Allium fistulosum
The farmer favourite. Strong dark green tops with tender stalks and a healthy root system. Good tolerance to summer heat. Can start indoors Feb. to mid-March and transplant or direct sow in April: sow a few seeds 5mm-1cm deep in each cell of a cell tray, transplant in clumps 12-15cm apart. To overwinter, start in early July and transplant in Aug. 60 days to maturity.
