This ancient Indigenous variety originates with the Zapotec people in the Oaxacan region of Mexico. Beautiful bushy plants produce copious amounts of pod shaped 2 inch long fruit. Starts green, then fully ripens to dark red. Noticeable markings on the skin of tiny beige stripes is normal. Starts to mature in 75 days . Grows very well in large pots, loves the greenhouse or is fine outside in warm locations. Considered hotter then most Jalapeños, with a Scoville units measurement between 2500 to 8000.They also have a sweet smoky taste. Give this plant an early start for best performance .
