The Story

Capsicum annuum

Bell Type

Orange Sun matures both early and fast. The fruit is very sweet and thick-walled. This is a perfect coloured pepper for salsa, roasting and salads. The bright orange colour is curiously intense. Peppers typically reach 12cm x 10cm (5" x 4"). We suggest that Orange Sun is an excellent variety for smaller gardens and containers.

How to Grow

Start indoors in mid-February to late March. Use a soil-less growing mix. Sow seeds 6mm (1/4") deep. Maintaining the growing medium at a temperature of 21C (70F) will enhance germination. Grow the seedlings under bright light and temperatures of 16-21C (60-70F) to produce strong, stocky plants. Transplant after hardening off, in late May to early June. Full sun and well-drained soil is best. Space the plants 30cm (12") apart in rows spaced 60cm (24") apart. Control weeds and avoid high nitrogen fertilizers. Try harvesting the peppers at different maturities to experience a wider range of flavours and textures. Staking is recommended with most varieties.

Approx. 15 seeds/pkt.
