Phaseolus vulgaris
Produces heavy yields of meaty but very tender, medium size 15 cm (6") dark green stringless pods. Good used fresh but renowned for their canning and freezing qualities. If you had but one bean to grow, this should be the one!
How to Grow
The growth requirements for pole beans are mostly the same as bush beans. The main difference is pole beans need to be grown on trellises, open weave fencing, nylon bean netting strung between supports or on bamboo or pole teepee. Securely anchor temporary structures to prevent collapse during the growing season. Make sure irrigation supplements rainfall during droughty weather.
