Best to be planted in a sunny location, however flowers will last longer in partial shade. Tulips are best planted in areas where they have not previously been planted in recent years.
Tulips are tolerant of a wide range of soils provided drainage is satisfactory.
Remove flowers when they begin to fade. Species hybrid tulips are are well suited to be left in the soil for several years. Top dressing of a slow acting fertilizer like bonemeal will assist the flowering. Water well after planting.
