The Story

Lactuca sativa

Variety originated in USA

Elevate your garden with the captivating Green Ice Lettuce. This open-pollinated variety is a visual masterpiece, with its crisp, dark, and exquisitely savoyed leaves reaching up to 25 cm high. It offers the luxurious crunch of a crisphead lettuce within a convenient loose-head form. Remarkably slow to bolt in the summer heat, this plant provides a consistently perfect texture and mouth-watering flavour that will transform your salads into an experience of unparalleled quality.

What you need to know to Plant & Grow:

Sowing: Sow seeds in a sunny site in successive crops every 2 weeks from April to August, as long as both the soil and weather are cool. Plant at a depth of 3 mm, with seeds spaced 1.2 cm apart.

Planting: Thin to 25 cm between plants, with rows 45 cm apart, to allow for optimal growth.

Care: For a truly luxurious harvest, work plenty of compost into the soil, as this lettuce thrives in an organic, well-draining, and fertile medium. Keep the soil evenly watered for the best growth.

Harvesting: Harvest by pulling the entire plant or by cutting leaves at least 2.5 cm (1”) above the base to encourage new leaf growth. This is a great plant for a kitchen container garden.

Germination: Germination typically occurs in 7-10 days

Approx. 1200 seed/pkt
