Our own history with this Endangered ancient Japanese variety dates back to the 1990's. Their heritage varieties are famous for tenderness and sweet taste. Historically, Kamo originates in the Kyoto region . Also good for shorter seasons, does very well in large pots and is a good producer. The beautiful round fruit has thin light purple skins, with firm, yet tender white flesh . An excellent keeper on the plant and once harvested. Versatile uses, can be grilled, fried, baked or stuffed.
