Dates back centuries and is now endangered. A localized variety to the Spanish peninsula and did spread further. Firm large red cherries fill sturdy bushes to 3 feet tall. Historically, whole plants were pulled near the end of the growing season. They were hung upside down in sheds and pantries to ripen over the winter months.Today we have found them to have excellent storage capability and can be harvested green to ripen in trays indoors. A good salad addition or used for salsa. Ready in 80 days.
