The Story
Hemerocallis - Barbara Mitchell
A beloved reblooming daylily, 'Barbara Mitchell' produces impressive 6″ soft-pink, ruffled flowers with a yellow‑green throat in mid-summer, and then again later. It grows in a tidy clump of grassy, semi-evergreen foliage around 18–24″ tall and wide, making it ideal for borders or containers. Exceptionally hardy and tough, it tolerates drought, heat, salt, poor soils, and even urban conditions, while attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. An award-winning Stout Medal cultivar (1992), this easy-care performer thrives in zones 3-9. Exceptionally floriferous, after 3-5 years these plants can produce 500–800 blooms per season.
