Daucus carota
One of the sweetest bunching carrots you can grow. Long slender carrots grow to about 8-10 inches long. Deep orange roots are crisp, sweet and almost coreless. Harvest in 70-80 days.
| Light | Full sun |
| Row Spacing | 8-10 inches |
| Plant Spacing | 2 inches |
| Planting depth | 1/8 inch |
| Days to germination | 14-21 |
| Plant Height | 12-18 inches |
Gardener's Notes: Sow seeds directly in the garden in spring. Carrots need light, well-drained soil. Sprinkle seeds evenly in the row, about 3-4 per inch and cover very lightly. Keep soil evenly moist during germination. Thin young seedlings, so carrots stand 1-2 inches apart, allowing them room to grow to maturity. Make several sowings 2 weeks apart for continuous supply till mid summer. Plant again in fall for late harvest.
