The Story

Dusty Miller Cineraria

Expect trait variation amongst plants at maturity. Almost ice white, deeply serrated, velvety foliage helps to make this an outstanding contrast plant for gardens and planters. Growing up to approximately  tall, this plant is quite tolerant of high temperatures and drought conditions. The scientific classification of Dusty Miller is tricky due to the diversity of cultivated varieties. We use ‘Cineraria maritima’ but it is also listed as ‘Senecio cineraria.’

What you need to know to Plant & Grow Dusty Miller Cineraria:

Dusty Miller is a highly valued annual for its silvery foliage, providing cool contrast and texture that holds up well in hot, dry conditions.

Site Selection: Grows best in full sun, will tolerate but not thrive in, partial shade.

Sowing Indoors: Best started indoors  weeks before planting out. Sow seeds right on the surface due to their small size. Water from below or use a mister. Germinates in up to  at .

Upkeep: Thin to one plant per cell and grow on at  before hardening off and transplanting outside in mid to late May. Space plants  apart in the garden.

Approx. 250 seeds/pkt
