Round, luminous light-green, planetary bulbs are packed with creamy white, tender flesh with a sweet turnipy flavor. 19th century heirloom kohlrabi’s crisp, juicy flesh and younger leaves are delectable raw or steamed. Harvest bulbs as soon as they’re apple-sized— just over 2" in diameter. Will continue producing throughout the summer. Heat-tolerant. Ready for harvest 55 days from seed sowing, full sun.
GARDEN HINTS: Use bulbs when the size of an apple before they become hard and woody. Store harvest in cool, frost-free place for winter use.
