Phaseolus vulgaris
Hailed as the “king of the green snap beans,” Tendergreen Bush Bean is an extraordinarily heavy producer. This open-pollinated variety yields succulent, sweet 15 cm long pods that are superb for fresh eating or for freezing. As our best-selling variety, it’s a dependable choice that promises a delicious and abundant harvest.
What you need to know to Plant & Grow
Beans have a distinct dislike for cold, wet soils, so sow seeds only after the soil has warmed to at least 16°C.
Planting: For best growth, sow seeds in a sunny location with light, organic, well-drained soil. Sow seeds 2.5 cm deep and 8 cm apart in rows spaced 45 to 70 cm apart. To ensure a continuous harvest, make successive sowings every 10 days until mid-July.
Care: Keep the soil evenly watered, particularly when the plants are in flower and starting to produce pods. Avoid using high-nitrogen fertilizer, as it can promote excessive foliage. To reduce the risk of disease, avoid disturbing the plants when leaves are damp. Germination occurs in approximately 8 days.
Approx. 80-100 seeds/pkt
