The Story

Phaseolus vulgaris

Get an early and heavy yield of classic green beans with our Stringless Green Pod Bush Bean seeds. This reliable heirloom variety, introduced in 1894, is well known for its medium green, very tender, and brittle pods that are completely stringless. With excellent heat tolerance, this is a top-performing choice for a bountiful and delicious harvest.

What you need to know to Plant & Grow

Beans have a distinct dislike for cold, wet soils, so sow seeds only after the soil has warmed to at least 16°C.

Planting: For best growth, sow seeds in a sunny location with light, organic, well-drained soil. Sow seeds 2.5 cm deep and 8 cm apart in rows spaced 45 to 70 cm apart. To ensure a continuous harvest, make successive sowings every 10 days until mid-July.

Care: Keep the soil evenly watered, particularly when the plants are in flower and starting to produce pods. Avoid using high-nitrogen fertilizer, as it can promote excessive foliage. To reduce the risk of disease, avoid disturbing the plants when leaves are damp. Germination occurs in approximately 8 days.

Approx. 80-100 seeds/pkt
