Amaranthus cruentus

Variety originated in Mexico.

Simply a beautiful looking edible plant! Colourful leaves can be used fresh or cooked. The plant can be left to mature and the seeds harvested for grain. Plants grow to 2 m (6'6") in height.

Approx. 1,000 seeds per packet. 

What you need to know to Plant & Grow Red Garnet Amaranth:

When to Plant: Sow directly in a sunny spot when the soil temperature reaches 21°C. Can also be started indoors 3 weeks before the last frost.

How to Plant: Sow seeds 3 mm deep. Seed spacing should be 5 cm apart.

Care: Thin plants to 45 cm apart when they are established. Maintain a row width of 60 cm. Germination takes 10-20 days.
