The Story

Daucus carota

Smooth, evenly shaped orange-scarlet roots. These meaty carrots are a garden staple and a good choice for soils that tend to be heavier. 

Sow - Direct Outdoors, Spring Days to Harvest - 72
Location - Full Sun Emergence - 10 to 20 days
Difficulty - Easy Lifecycle - Biennial
Approx. 1,200 seeds per packet Frost hardy heirloom root crop

Growing Instructions:

In a sunny site, sow seeds 6mm (1/4in) deep and 7.5cm (3in) apart into a loose, crumbly soil with good moisture holding capacity. Keep the seedbed evenly moist during the 2 to 3 week germination period. Carrots are very cold hardy and can be started early in the spring. Replant successive crops every 20 to 40 days during the growing season. Harvest any time after the carrot roots develop good colour.
